SENSUALITY RATINGS
My ratings are heavily influenced by the system used by All About Romance and Jill D.’s blog, Romance Rookie. Here’s a rough idea of what I mean when I use the various terms. I sometimes add a comment to further explain what I mean.
Burning: Very explicit and frequent sex scenes. Might contain BDSM, or other non-vanilla sexual content. Most likely used to describe erotic fiction, or erotic romance.
Hot: Explicit sex scenes and language between hero and heroine, but not as frequent as in erotica/erotic romance.
Warm: Book contains sex scenes but they aren’t particularly explicit. Focus is on sexual tension and emotional development of relationship between hero and heroine.
Subtle: Sex is alluded to, or occurs off page.
Kisses: No direct references to sex, and certainly no sex scenes, but the book still contains a romance.
