Yay! I’ve been jumping around in delight since I registered for the conference and booked my flight. This will be my first visit to NYC and my first time attending the Romance Writers of America’s annual conference.
Once the excitement wears off a little, I’ll face up to the prospect of all the work I have to get done between now and the end of June. I’ve decided Irish Eyes is total crap and requires a major rewrite. (Hopefully, it’s not quite that bad but it definitely needs revision.) I also want to finish my current WIP so I can pitch it at the conference. Plus my website needs beautification. Lots to do but I can think about that tomorrow…
Who else is going? Are you volunteering for any of the events? Anything I absolutely have to do or see in the city?

I’m so jealous. I’m not going to go unless by some chance I final in the Golden Heart then I’m dashing there. Can’t justify the cost otherwise. Is Irish Eyes what you entered in the GH?
Hurray! We’ll finally get to meet since I’m going as well
I need to register this week – but yes, I’m going. Besides RWA, I have college friends who live in the city, so it’ll be a chance to see them
Since I’ll probably be arriving early, I’ll probably sign up to volunteer. Last year I stuffed the registration tote bags. Got to see all the goodies before everyone else, and with several of us working it only took a couple of hours.
Lucky! I’m sure you’ll have a great experience. Make sure you stop by The Strand.
@Lynette: Yes, it is. I barely got it finished in time to send in, so my hopes of making the list of finalists are not high. Hopefully, I’ll have both books polished for next year’s GH.
@KB/KT Grant: Yay! I’ll look forward to it.
@Wendy: I submitted my volunteer form but I’m not sure it got through. Something’s strange about the RWA conference links. I’m looking forward to meeting you in person.
@heidenkind: Is that a bookstore?
Hoping to get there. Buying round world trip ticket. Spend June in Turkey and Greece, fly on to N.York. Just need to find the right date of conference and book. See you all, or anyone at the conference look for one lone Australian. Patrice.
Hello. I hope to get to RWA 11 as well. I used to live in NYC and haven’t been back in years. I agree with heidenkind. Definately check out The Strand. I still have all the books I purchased there. Also, MOMA. And you got to hit Bryant Park. So much to do and see there. Ahh…the memories!!! I love NYC!!!
