I’m still trying to decide what books to read on my holidays. Thanks to the joys of digital reading, I’ve created a folder on my BeBook called Holiday Books. Me being me, I am paranoid enough to back them up on a USB stick to read on my laptop if my BeBook decides to give up the ghost while we’re away. I’m tempted to pack a print book, too, just in case.
Anyway, here’s what my Holiday Books folder contains so far:
- Trick of the Dark by Val McDermid – This book is the most expensive ebook I’ve bought to date. However, Val McDermid is one of my favourite mystery authors and this book was just released today.
- The Draining Lake by Arnaldur Indridason – An Icelandic mystery.
- The Redeemer by Jo Nesbø – I meant to read his most recent thriller, The Snowman, on holiday, but I still haven’t gotten around to reading this one.
- The Darkest Room by Johan Theorin - A Swedish mystery.
- Some Danger Involved by Will Thomas – Historical Mystery.
- What Remains of Heaven by C.S. Harris - Now that the sixth book in the Sebastian St. Cyr series finally has a release date (March 2011), I can allow myself to read this one.
- Savour the Moment by Nora Roberts – The third book in her Bridal Quartet.
- Hot Island Nights by Sarah Mayberry – I’ve been saving this one.
- Warrior by Zoe Archer – It looks interesting and I’m in the mood for something a bit different.
I doubt I’ll manage to read all of these, but I like having a choice. Have you read any of the books on my list? If so, what did you think of them?

Nice list hon! I really enjoyed Savour the Moment: funny and entertaining as always. And I heard so many good things about Warrior. Have it on my to buy list. Enjoy the books!
Compiling a holiday reading list is always fun! I’ve read #3 (Nesbo) & #4 (Theorin) on your list – I love Jo Nesbo and think Theorin is very good, too. I have #6 (CS Harris) and can’t wait to start it, I love that series. I haven’t read #2 (Indridason) but have a couple of his other books and plan to read the entire series. #1 is on my ‘gotta get it’ list. Happy Reading.
LOL, I’m still saving that C.S. Harris, too!
Hope you have a wonderful holiday! The only one of these books I’ve read so far is The Redeemer (really enjoyed it), but most of these are either on my TBR or my wishlist.
@SusiSunshine: I’ve enjoyed Nora Roberts’ Bridal series. They’re cute books.
@Trish: Thanks for the Indridason recommendation. I’m looking forward to reading his stuff.
@Victoria Janssen: I love saving books by authors I like for a rainy day/holiday.
@Lynn Spencer: Thanks! I need to catch up on the Harry Hole series before The Leopard comes out next year.
