The End

Two glorious words. Yep, my first draft for the Book in 3 Months Challenge is done. Now I need to knock it into shape to enter it in the Golden Heart contest.

Even though revisions are hard work, I far prefer them to writing first drafts. There’s a sense of achievement in taking a bad to mediocre chapter and polishing it into a good one. In contrast, I find first drafts a drag. I do get a buzz out of meeting my daily word count goals, but I try to avoid reading over what I’ve written the previous day.

For now, though, I’m taking the rest of the day off and curling up with a book.

Oh, yes! Most writers love having written much more than writing. Revisions are playtime for me.

Congrats on getting to the end!

Oh, I don’t know. I love the first draft until I get stuck. (At which point I write the ending because I always have the ending worked out in my head.) And revisions are fun, but very very time consuming.

I’m resisting the urge to say they are never-ending; it just seems that way.

Thank you for the congratulations! I started my revisions today. Some chapters are pretty good and others are a hot mess. I can look forward to a fun couple of months. :D
