June Reading Round-Up

June was a very busy reading month for me. I read a record twenty-two books, plus an anthology containing three novellas! I’ve noticed that I read faster on the BeBook than I do print books. Plus a significant number of the books on my list are short, category romances.

What is even more astounding than the number of books I read in June is the fact that I’ve written reviews for all of them. Admittedly, some of them are in the form of mini review posts, but that still counts, right? ;)

At any rate, my review for Cold Sight by Leslie Parrish will be up on Saturday, and the other June reviews will be posted over the next couple of weeks.

Wow fab reading month!! I read faster on my Kindle than I do print books. Not sure why. I also seem to read faster if I don’t intent to write a review on the book. I’m committing my summer to reading series books that have been on my TBR far too long. I just read the Kate Daniels series and it was awesome!! Next is the Shifter series by Rachel Vincent, then the Mercy series by Patricia Briggs.

Magic Bleeds (Kate Daniels)!!! Honestly, that’s the best book I’ve read in quite awhile. I also got hooked on Robyn Carr’s Virgin River series. I’ve read the first four and #5 is waiting on the top of my TBR pile. The characters, endings, and setting are almost too perfect, bordering on corny, but I love it anyway. Finally, although I rarely read YA, I read The Iron King by Julie Kagawa and loved it.

@Fiction Vixen: I’m not sure why I reader faster on the BeBook. Initially, I assumed it was the novelty factor, but if that is the reason, it’s lasting a long time.

@JenM: I have the first three books in the Kate Daniels series. I need to try them.

Not quite finished it yet, but “The Name of the Wind” may very well be the best book I have read. Ever.
I’ll probably have to get a beBook as well if they speed up reading. My iPad is doing the exact opposite. And no, it’s not the glare ( which is nowhere near as bad as I expected), but the potential for distraction. News, TV, twitter, Wikipedia, movies… all on the same device. The temptaion is difficult to resist
