The festivities are almost upon us. I have 14 people for dinner this evening and 9 for lunch tomorrow. My experience of entertaining this many people is limited, so I’m hoping everything runs smoothly.
A few random observations:
- I LOVE my new HP Notebook! It was an early Christmas present and I’ve been playing with it ever since it arrived.
- My mother brought my beloved illustrated copy of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens over from Ireland. Happy days!
- I’ve resisted temptation and Karen Marie Moning’s Dreamfever is still wrapped. I intend it to be my Christmas read, so expect a review next week.
- I’m compiling my Reading Round-Up for 2009, plus my Top Ten Romances of 2009. Expect both lists next week.
I’m not sure how much I’ll be online over the next few days. My next blog post probably won’t be until next Monday. In the meantime, I wish you all a very merry Christmas!

A blessed and merry Xmas to you too Sarah and woohoo on the HP Notebook, enjoy it! You’re so strong for not having read Dreamfever yet, I so would have devoured it already LOL I think next week many top (number) list blogposts will show up and I’m reflecting on my year as well.
Merry Christmas Sarah!
Wow, a HP Notebook, that is some Xmas pressie! Enjoy!
I want to start my 2009 round-up too, but am so behind in writing reviews that I’m doing that first, my round-up and top lists will probably appear somewhere first week of January.
We are hosting a Xmas brunch on Saturday (we have 2 Xmas days here) so tomorrow will be all about the baking and cooking…tomorrow just a quiet dinner for hubby and me…before the family members storm our house Saturday!
Enjoy Dreamfever, I am still saving this series for when the last release is due to arrive. Couldn’t bear to wait a year for the outcome
A happy and hasslefree Xmas to you and your family!
I’ll tell you — best Christmas present ever was 3 years ago when my siblings got all pissy about my divorcing Henry and marrying Ross. I kept Henry (as a friend) and Ross (as a hubby) and ditched the sibs!
As a result, and with all my former and current in-laws in the UK, I merely have to cook for 3 people over the long weekend. (Wrapping is still a major chore, though — must get that done today.)
Merry Christmas, everyone!
Enjoy!
Merry Christmas Sarah to you and your family. Please give them my best wishes. And best of luck to you with the family get togethers. I got off lucky, only have to bring a pre-baked ham to my mom’s tomorrow. I’m out of town from the 26-29th and hope to phone you before I start work back on the 4th.
Love ya!!!
Just immediate family for the most part for me — unusually, we’re going to have roast beast
with Yorkshire pudding. A velly British dinner! And then the next day I’m making tortiere. I’m sure all will go well — try to ENJOY yourself!
I read in such a mad blur that it’s difficult to make a best of anything list. Plus I’m almost always re-reading. But I look forward with interest to your lists
Merry merry!!
Merry Christmas, Sarah! I hope you have a great one.
Hope your dinner and Christmas lunch went well! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Thanks to everyone for the Christmas wishes. I hope your day went as well as mine. The dinner party was a success – whew! The tree didn’t burn to the ground. Everyone ate too much. And no one fought! All good.
