November was a busy month for me. Although reading 10 books in a month isn’t much, I’m amazed I got any read at all. What I did not manage to do, unfortunately, was to write reviews for all of them. Ironically enough, I notice I found the time to write reviews for my favourites! I’ll try to catch up over the next couple of weeks but I may need to resort to a mini-review post.
- Dragon Blood (2003) by Patricia Briggs – Fantasy – Grade A
- Where Serpents Sleep (2008) by C.S. Harris – Historical Mystery – Grade A-
- Skin Game (2009) by Ava Gray – Paranormal Romance – Grade B+
- Laid Bare (2009) by Lauren Dane – Contemporary Erotic Romance – Grade B+
- Hunter’s Need (2009) by Shiloh Walker – Paranormal Romance – Grade B+
- Daughter of the Blood (2000) by Anne Bishop – Fantasy – Grade B-
- Grimspace (2007) by Ann Aguirre – SciFi – Grade B-
- Going Too Far (2009) by Jennifer Echols – YA – Grade C+
- Storm Front (2000) by Jim Butcher – Urban Fantasy – Grade C+
- To Desire a Devil (2009) by Elizabeth Hoyt – Historical Romance – Grade C
How many books did you read in November? Which were your favourites?

Well if you think 10 books isn’t much…I only read 5 in November. My favourites were HARD TO HOLD by Stephanie Tyler and THE VIKING’S CAPTIVE BRIDE by Michelle Styles. Very different books but both thoroughly enjoyable.
Hi Sarah, You still had a good month considering NaNoWriMo! I think I’ve read all in all 6-7 books but last week I had very little reading time :S Now that December has arrived I seriously need to start looking at my overall 2009 lists
@Pearl You know, maybe I need to adjust what I consider to be “just a few” books per month. Looking back over the past few months, ten books seems to be pretty average for me at the moment.
@Leontine Oh, gosh! I’m already working on my “Best of 2009″ list, plus a post on all the books I’m looking forward to in 2010. December will be a month of lists, I suspect.
Hi! This is my first visit to your blog! Where have I been?
I’d say you had a great month with some really great books.
I think your month was really good considering you also wrote a book and still have the kids and the household.
I’m so curious about what you think about Going to Far. This one is on my Xmas wishlist.
Ten book isn’t much? I only manage to read one a week usually! I read six in november but have not reviewed them yet, not time! Out of those six I liked Carolyn Jewel with Scandal and Lori Brighton with Wild Hearts very much.
I like the books you’ve read. I’m currently reading Skin Game as well. I think it was still a great month considering the NaNoWriMo you did. I haven’t read that much more – about 12 books – and I didn’t write a book
I read 9 books this month. For me that’s a lot.
@Fiction Vixen Thanks! Your blog is also a very recent discovery. I found it when I Googled reviews of Lauren Dane’s Laid Bare.
@SusiSunshine At the very least, I want to write up a mini-review for Going Too Far. The idea is actually very good but there were a couple of things which stretched credibility and jerked me out of the story.
@Marissa Oh, I remember enjoying Scandal very much! I still haven’t read Carolyn Jewel’s latest historical but it’s on my list.
@ErotRomReader I’m very curious to hear what you think of Skin Game. I really enjoyed it.
@heidenkind I’m probably still thinking in terms of the number of books I read in my student days. Put it this way: 10 books are not as many as I would like to read in a month!
Yeah, I’m really enjoying it too, so far (I still have about 180 pages to go). I desperately want to finish it, but am also liking it that I can’t right now and that I can ‘carry’ it with me a little bit longer. When I do finish it, I will put up a review at my blog. Maybe we can chat about it a bit more than. See ya, girl!
I only read nine this month, which isn’t too bad considering I went on a week long trip.
My faves were Kate Rothwell’s Somebody Wonderful and Susan Beth Pfeffer’s Life As We Knew It. That was different
