I have Fade to Black on its way to me..can’t wait to read it!
@Mandi I hope you like it. I’ll be posting an interview with Leslie Parrish tomorrow. She was a good sport and agreed to answer a few questions on very short notice.
I read both of Parrish’s releases and both of Tessa Dare’s, along with a ton of others, but those were the standouts for me this month.
@Lori I’ve just finished Surrender of a Siren and liked it.
Sorry to see you didn’t enjoy The Conqueror as much as I did. What didn’t you like? My guess was the heroine’s loyalty to her King, which some readers might have found to be excessesive.
It seems we read about the same amount of books each month. I have Stolen Fury in my TBR pile that I need to get to. I have been hearing good things about these books. I also added Parrish’s book to my list, as well.
@Jill D. Hey, Jill. My problem with The Conqueror was primarily the pacing, which is a typical debut author issue. The story itself was well done. I wouldn’t rule out reading Kris Kennedy’s future books. If you’re interested, here’s a link to my review: http://www.monkeybearreviews.com/2009/08/21/review-the-conqueror-2009-by-kris-kennedy/
We do seem to read a similar number of books! I’m interested in reading several of the books you mention in your August book summary. I keep hearing good things about Karen Marie Moning.
That is a lot of books to read in four weeks. I don’t think I even got through one, to be honest. There were a whole bunch I didn’t finish.
Oh well. There’s always next month.
