As I’m always curious what books other people are reading, or intend to read, here are a few titles from my ‘To Be Read’ shelf.
- I recently bought What Angels Fear by C.S. Harris. This is the first in a historical mystery series, set England just after the first phase of the Napoleonic Wars. I’ve heard great things about it.
- I’m planning to read Judith James’s Broken Wing as part of Orannia’s reading challenge.
- The Great Lover by Jill Dawson is one of the picks for Richard & Judy’s Summer Reads 2009. Set in 1909, it tells the story of a relationship between the poet Rupert Brooke and a young maid.
- Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates. I want to read the book before I see the film.
Do you have a large pile of TBR books? What book are you planning on reading next?

My TBR pile is huge. Have been ignoring all the books in my unpacked boxes and have been enjoying the library here. Am currently reading Elizabeth George, Careless in Red.
Next up in the TBR pile, in no particular order:
The Yacoubian Building by Alaa Al Aswany
Homestead by Rosanne Lippi
The True Story of Hansel and Gretel by Louise Murphy
The Sultan’s Seal by Jenny White
Someone Knows My Name by Lawrence Hill
House of Day, House of Night by Olga Tokarczuk
In Cold Blood by Truman Capote
Gosh, yes. Thanks for reminding me. I need to order ‘The Yacoubian Building’ for our next book club date. Have you read ‘In Cold Blood’ before? If not, you’re in for a treat.
Saw the movie Capote which reminded me to buy the book, and it has been sitting on my shelf ever since. I think the only Capote I have read up to now was Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
Glad that you don’t have Yacoubian Building yet… buys me some time to read some of these other TBR’s! Let me know when you receive it so we can coordinate.
