Here are some links I found this week. Enjoy your weekend!
Emily Cotler has an interesting post on how shortening URLs shortchanges branding. Emily is the creative director of WaxCreative, a design studio specialising in author websites. Among her clients are Julia Quinn (Emily’s sister) & Eloisa James. She argues that shortening URLs on Twitter and elsewhere is detrimental to getting your site known. I’m not sure that I agree with her overall, but she does make some valid points.
Katiebabs asks ‘Can the Author and the Reviewer Be Friends?‘ She talks about the potential awkwardness of writing honest reviews of books written by authors with whom she’s friendly.
Samhain are running a contest to win the free ebook of your choice. I’m keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed that I get a copy of Deidre Knight’s Butterfly Tattoo.
