The sun is shining and I am sneezing. Hayfever season has officially begun. Thankfully, our friendly postlady managed to cheer me up by delivering a rather large Amazon parcel.
My haul includes: The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley, Always a Scoundrel by Suzanne Enoch, She’s Got It Bad by Sarah Mayberry, True Love & Other Disasters by Rachel Gibson, Snowbound by Larissa Ione. I purchased Snowbound purely on the basis of the cover. A half-naked hunk draped in the Swiss flag? A must-have!
It’s also the 1st of May and marks the end of my first calendar month of blogging. OK, it’s only been three weeks, but all prior posts will be in the April archive, so that counts, right?
So far, I’ve managed to achieve the goals I set out for myself when I started this blog:
- Post an average of five entries per week. Less is too few and more is unrealistic with real-life commitments.
- Try to include at least two book reviews per week.
- Include amusing tidbits if I find them genuinely funny but not pad the blog with filler.
- Improve my knowledge of WordPress, HTML & CSS. (I’m working on it…)
- Have fun!
Enjoy the weekend.

Well – happy month anniversary! Before you know it, it will be your year anniversary *g* I figure your last point is the best one
And I do so hope you love the Jennifer Ashley book as much as I did! I’m eagerly awaiting your thoughts on it.
Ooh, thanks for posting that you received the Rachel Gibson today. Earlier you had mentioned it, but it had not yet been released. Today I went to my library site to put it on hold and snagged a copy!
Thanks, Kristie!
I’m planning to read the Jennifer Ashley book this weekend. So far, I’ve liked all the historicals you’ve recommended, so I’m pretty sure I’ll like this one as well.
I loved Jennifer Ashley’s historical mystery series which she wrote under the name Ashley Gardner. Have you read those books? The fist one is ‘The Hanover Square Affair’. Unfortunately, they appear to be out-of-print.
Andrea, I hope you like the Gibson book. Her books are light escapism. I haven’t read it yet as it just arrived today.
